A New Day…

changei woke up this morning to a new (hopefully better) government, so here’s to feeling optimistic.

But also on the weekend, i saw my first sighting of snow…  so…. pessimism will prevail…

Change is in the air people!

On another note, this past weekend i tabled my first Canzine and had a goddamn blast!  Sold lots of comics and stuff.   Met lots of really cool people.  Won the Zine Race.  Chester Brown told me he liked my Canzine poster.  A really great day all in all.  Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the comics and zine scene here in Toronto.  It really means a lot to not only me, but all the other makers struggling to get a sliver of your attention.

And on the last note, i’ve started a comix club with a couple of my maker friends.  We haven’t really fleshed anything out yet, but you can expect weekly comics again from yours truly (if you miss posting a week, you owe a round of beers).  Also, weekly postings from the rest of the crew:  Andy Harris, James Spencer and David Craig.

Canzine posters!

CANZINE TORONTO CANZINE VANCOUVER Canzine WinnipegI was honoured to be asked to make the poster for this year’s Canzine!  Canzine is a big zine and comics fair in Canada, put together by Broken Pencil Magazine.  This year there are three events (Toronto, Vancouver and Winnipeg) so that’s why i posted all three posters.  I’m really excited for Canzine, not only because of my poster, but also because this will be the first time I’m tabling in the comics world!  I’ve tabled before at art fairs with a collective i was a part of a long time ago, but never on my own, and not with a focus on comics and zines.  Oh, and this year the Toronto show is at the AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario), so i guess zines and comics are becoming a legitimate part of the art world?!  Who knew?

Stay tuned for more babbling about Canzine as i syke myself up for the big event!

The April Fool

april_foolFULLHere’s a tour poster for my good friend Garbageface.  We went on tour together in the summer of 2011, and had a blast!  I love this guy and his art.  If you are close to any of these cities, you should check out his live show.  Guaranteed good times.  Tell ’em yr pal Robb sent ya!

November 19/14 – The First Snow…

sbc_nov-19-14Well, i wrote this comic after the first big snowfall in the city.  Seems as soon as the snow hits, everyone becomes an idiot and forgets that this happens every year.  This leads to major panics, car accidents, and severely dramatic news reports…  Every year!!!

Well, i drew this a couple months ago, and today does not feel relevant.  As i look out my window, the sun is out and the snow is gone.  Although, i’m pretty sure if i leave the house, it’s still bloody cold out there…  Alas, it’s still winter, so i guess this comic is kinda relevant.
